Yes. It’s true.
If you buy an all-electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, you can qualify for a tax credit worth up to $7,500!
Sounds simple enough doesn’t it? But to claim the full $7,500 credit, there are some important tax law changes you need to know now.
Thank the newly enacted Inflation Reduction Act
for all the complicated changes.
Here’s just one example:
Electric vehicles purchased and placed in service after August 16, 2022 qualify for the tax credit only if they are assembled in North America.
Of course, this nasty restriction is just one of a whole bunch.
Here are just some of the many issues I’ll deal with in my new article.
- A detailed introduction to the electric vehicle credit for 2022
- The electric vehicle credit for 2023 and later
- The new rule for 2024 and later
Plus, topics like:
- The elimination of the 200,000 cap
- Buyer income caps
- Electric vehicle price caps
- Credit for used electric vehicles
- Point of sale credits
And much more!
The bottom line?
Buying an electric vehicle can be a smart move, but the new rules governing the sale can be complex.
